Meet Nina DeQuardo

We sat down with Saturn Lounge Marketing/Copywriting Intern Nina DeQuardo and learned a few things. Here’s what we found out…

Where are you from?

I grew up in Hartland, WI, 30 minutes west of Milwaukee. Now I live in on the east side of Milwaukee.

Where do you go to school?

I’m currently going into my junior year at UW-Milwaukee. I’m a marketing major!

What do you do for fun?

I like to spend time with my friends, going out or getting food. I also love hanging out with my family and my dog – he’s my best friend. Other than that, I like to work out and I love cooking! I love fashion and makeup but they’re not hobbies I can pursue on a college student budget, unfortunately.

What motivates you?

I really want to have a career that I genuinely enjoy. I love marketing, so it’s going pretty well for me so far. I want to move to a big city after college, either Los Angeles or New York, and I know I need to work hard in order to make it out there!

Name three words that describe you.

Outgoing, creative, and strong-willed.

Favorite meal?

Hands down, pasta. The Italian in me could eat it everyday for every meal.

How do you want people to remember you?

I’ve been told I’m the kind of person that can make friends with everyone, and it’s something I’m proud of. I hope people remember me as being caring and a good friend.

What’s playing in your car right now?

Always Ariana Grande – I love her too much. Other than that, I mostly listen to rap and r&b, but I can enjoy a little bit of everything. I love 2000’s throwback jams.

Best advice anyone has given you?

Don’t settle for less than you’re worth.

Craziest thing you’ve ever done?

I don’t know if it’s the craziest thing, but I just booked a trip to Barcelona in a month with my best friend. Super spontaneous, but I’m so excited!

Name one short term goal.

I want to graduate college with honors! It’s tough, but I know I can do it.

You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?

Pink! Any other color would feel wrong.

What do you feel most grateful for?

My family and my health. I constantly think about how lucky I am, and I’m trying to enjoy being young and live it up while I still can. I’m lucky to have an amazing support system in my friends and family.

What do you wish you could tell yourself 10 years ago? What do you think you’ll want to tell your current self 10 years from now?

I wish I could tell my younger self to not worry what people think of me! I grew out of that as I got older and now I wish I could go back and see what I’d do differently. I think I’d tell future me that I’m doing a good job at whatever it is I’m doing!
