Lambs Farm

WHERE BOTH PURPOSE AND POSSIBILITIES ARE FOURISHING

In 1961, Bob Terese and Corrine Owen opened a small pet shop on State Street in Chicago. It was like every other small business with one exception: all 12 of its employees had developmental disabilities. Today, just off I94 near Libertyville, you’ll find what has become Lambs Farm, a special place where adults with developmental disabilities can live, work, and build lives of their own.

A SPECIAL CONNECTION

Saturn Lounge Creative Director, Eric Olson, has a very special relationship with Lambs Farm. His son, Cameron, is a person with developmental disabilities. For several years, Eric has generously lent his time and talents to help promote the Farm and its special mission, which has inspired two of his children and his daughter-in-law to work there. And the whole team at Saturn Lounge was ready to step in and help.

A New Mission. A New Reality.

Lambs Farm offers a wide range of services that empower people to live more independent and fulfilling lives. These include full-time residential programs, vocational training, job placement and support—both at Lambs Farm and within the broader community—as well as social, recreational, and home-based services funded by the Illinois Department of Human Services.

On campus, thriving businesses such as The Farmyard, Dogwood Garden & Pet Center, Magnolia Café & Bakery, and the Cedar Chest Thrift Shop provide even more opportunities for hands-on learning and meaningful employment. Together, these programs and enterprises bring Lambs Farm’s mission to life—helping people gain the skills, confidence, and sense of purpose they need to achieve greater independence and self-reliance.

Imagery That Reflects a Thriving Community

Lambs Farm has grown from a small pet store into a vital part of the community, a transformation that deserves imagery reflecting its current reality. The dedicated individuals who work there provide high-quality services, from light industrial projects like hand assembly, packaging, and sorting, to supporting the Farm’s various businesses. Our team captured authentic moments of people working, living, and enjoying life—building skills, forging relationships, and fostering the independence that defines Lambs Farm today.

We Love It When a Client Says It Best

It all came together in a refreshed website that truly captures the spirit of today’s Lambs Farm. But don’t just take our word for it—here’s what Kathy Buresch, President and CEO, had to say:

“We needed our website and imagery to reflect how our mission has truly become a business community right on our campus. The team at Saturn Lounge not only demonstrated the skills needed to align our communication with our current reality, but the compassion and commitment to help people with developmental disabilities live the fuller, and more self-reliant lives they deserve.”
